1Pet 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Each of us has received at least one motivation. From time to time, all of us will find ourselves in one of these gifts because we are exhorted to do it. But, over a period of time, we’ll find out that there is one gift in which our flowing is special. But, just because we recognize our main gift doesn’t mean that we don’t operate in the other gifts when we have opportunity to be used in those areas. One can’t say, for instance, “Well, I have the gift of prophecy so I will not give at the time of the collection of offerings.”

3. Teaching
There is a difference between the motivation of teaching which loves to study, and the ministry of teaching which proclaims the word of God. The motivation of teaching is the motivation to dig out facts and share it with others.

4. Exhortation
A person with this gift helps to strengthen the faith of people. The gift helps to guide and counsel people in their problems. While the prophetic gift denounces sin and tells what’s wrong with the people, the motivation of exhortation encourages people to do better. It helps people grow and become mature.

5. Giving
This doesn’t mean that the person who is motivated to give has lot of money. It’s above mere offerings and tithing. That is something that every believer is expected to do. But, a person with the motivation of giving has the wisdom to raise funds, and take care of the finances to help the work.

6. Ruling (Administration)
These are people who can lead a group and get things done. The ruling people don’t do it themselves, but coordinate things to get a job done. They can motivate people to fit into the job so that everybody knows what they need to be doing. The word “ruling” means to stand up in front. They help to facilitate, to make things easy, and to help things work smoothly.

7. Mercy
These are people who are motivated to comfort those who are in distress. Such a person will naturally gravitate to person who is in distress and sorrow.
